The Zambia Metrology Agency (ZMA) commenced the verification of measuring instruments used in the petroleum sector at the beginning of the year 2021

Following a video circulation which went viral on social media on 24th June 2022, in which a consumer complained about alleged underweight bags of mealie meal produced by Nyimba Milling Limited,

Minister of Commerce, Trade, and Industry (MCTI), Mr Chipoka Mulenga, has directed the Zambia Metrology Agency (ZMA) to increase compliance inspections of mealie-meal and other pre-packaged commodities across the country.

Ministry of Commerce, Trade, and Industry Permanent Secretary, Mr John Mulongoti has urged the ZMA to expand its services to other measurement areas.

Zambia Metrology Agency (ZMA) has engaged the Ministry of Agriculture (MOA) to discuss the Agency’s support to the Farmer Input Support Programme (FISP) through the determination of the weight (net content) of farming inputs such as Fertilizer and Seed in preparation for the 2022/2023 farming season

Following the Energy Regulation Board's (ERB) launch of fuel marking in Zambia on February 15th, 2018 in line with Statutory Instrument No. 69 of 2017, the ERB has been conducting fuel marking at inland depots, which include TAZAMA and selected Oil Marketing Companies facilities.
